Tom A. Wimsett is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of National Processing Company. Tom spent 19 years at “legacy” National Processing Company (NYSE: NAP), serving as its President and CEO from 1999 to 2002. During Wimsett’s tenure as CEO, core revenues for the company increased by over 60% while profits nearly quadrupled. Market capitalization of NAP, which stood at $275 million at the beginning of 1999, peaked at nearly $1.8 billion just prior to September 11, 2001. Over the past six years, ITPS, now renamed National Processing Company, has completed four acquisitions (including a significant portion and the branding rights of legacy NAP) and become the sixth largest credit card processing provider in the U.S. with over 240,000 merchant clients and handling nearly $30 billion in credit card processing volumes each year.
